During the coronavirus pandemic, when life ground to a halt, self-taught artist Jordy Koumans (born 1994) discovered his true passion: painting . With extra time at home and no distractions, he picked up a brush for the first time. What began as a way to get through the days grew into a profound quest to capture emotions and daily impressions in his original paintings.

Although Jordy developed himself largely self-taught, he also took lessons with the versatile visual artist and teacher Annelies van Biesbergen , which further deepened his technique and artistic vision.

Without a classical art background, Jordy developed into a versatile artist, always curious and experimental with different materials and techniques. He draws inspiration from everything around him: from vibrant cityscapes to the tranquility of nature, special encounters, and small, almost invisible details that add color to life.

In his studio in Tilburg, Jordy creates unique acrylic and oil paintings, also working with oil pastels and experimenting with textures and materials like sand, plaster, and modeling paste. Each original artwork is carefully crafted, signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
